Behind him, Erebos was tugging on his shirt, his face carefully blank. Once finished dressing, he stared at the floor for a minute before moving towards the window.
"I'm sorry, Royce. I didn't mean to mess things up between you two."
With that, he slid the window open and jumped to the ground below. Once he landed, he'd be gone and heading toward the lightpost. Ren, having been listening, would be after him soon enough.
